Local Priorities Nuisance motorbikes Update

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance motorbikes, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

This evening the Grimsby West Community Team have conducted an Op Yellowfin Day of Action in Immingham. This is in relation to tackling antisocial behaviour and nuisance vehicles in our area.

This is in response to your priorities that you the residents have reported to police.

• Police have issued a E-scooter warning letter to a member of the public advising that E-scooters are illegal and that if seen again it will be seized.
• A white moped has been seized for no insurance.
• A blue motorbike has also been seized for no insurance and this was found to be on false plates.

Your local policing team are planning several operations over the coming months in a bid to take these vehicles off the street, prevent injuries and deter antisocial behaviour that these vehicles cause.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police.

February 2025 saw the publication of the Ministry of Justice Crime and Policing Bill: Antisocial behaviour (ASB) factsheet. This outlined a number of new measures including making powers to seize vehicles under section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 easier to use, allowing the police to react robustly and immediately to the anti-social use of motor vehicles.
